The SPRINT Robotics Rio Seminar: Corrosion Monitoring, Leak Detection, and (AI) Reporting, held on April 15–16, 2026 at the Petrobras Cenpes Convention Centre, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, brought together over 95 industry professionals for two days of high-impact discussions, expert insights, and strategic collaboration.
With sold-out attendance and strong engagement throughout, the seminar underscored a clear industry shift: robotics and AI are moving beyond pilot projects toward scalable, real-world deployment across inspection and maintenance operations.
Day 1: Setting the Direction for Scalable, End-to-End Solutions
The seminar opened with welcome remarks from Petrobras’ General Manager Cezar Augusto Monteiro Siqueira, followed by a keynote from SPRINT Robotics Latin America Board Member Carlos Eduardo Rodrigues Pereira. Together, they set the tone for a forward-looking program focused on transforming inspection through robotics and AI.
Throughout the day, speakers from leading organizations, including Petrobras, Shell, ROSEN, Orion Inspection Services, INSTOR, UPTEC Solutions, and SKA Robotics, shared real-world applications and insights across corrosion monitoring, leak detection, and AI-enabled reporting.
A consistent message emerged: end users are demanding integrated, end-to-end solutions that connect data acquisition, analysis, and reporting into seamless operational workflows. The focus is no longer on isolated technologies but on complete systems that deliver measurable value in the field.
Day 2: From Innovation to Operational Reality
Building on Day 1, the second day of the seminar focused on practical deployment and emerging applications across complex industrial environments.
Speakers from Equinor and SBM Offshore, alongside experts from Pix Force, TSC Subsea, and Flyability, explored topics including:
Discussions highlighted the growing importance of end-to-end robotics solutions and reinforced SPRINT Robotics’ role in bridging the gap between technological innovation and real-world industrial deployment.
Regional Collaboration and Industry Priorities
A key highlight of the seminar was the SPRINT Robotics Latin America Chapter Meeting, which brought together both members and non-members to discuss regional priorities and opportunities.
The session revealed strong demand for:
These insights will play a critical role in shaping future SPRINT Robotics activities in Latin America.
A Strong Signal for the Future
The Rio Seminar demonstrated the accelerating momentum of robotics adoption across the region. With active participation from global operators, technology developers, and industry leaders, the event reinforced the importance of collaboration in scaling robotics solutions for inspection and maintenance.
SPRINT Robotics extends its sincere thanks to all speakers, participants, and partners who contributed to the success of the seminar, and especially to Petrobras for hosting the event at the Cenpes Convention Centre.
As the industry continues to evolve, SPRINT Robotics remains committed to driving initiatives that turn innovation into field-ready, scalable solutions, bringing the global community closer to widespread adoption of robotics in industrial operations.
