Taurob develops an ecosystem of fully autonomous robots and cloud based apps for routine operations and inspection on industrial sites. The robots are capable of performing missions under harsh environmental conditions (e.g. rain, cold, explosive gas) and gather video, audio and sensor data.
Taurob has been founded in 2010 by Matthias Biegl and Lukas Silberbauer with the aim of developing robots for fire departments. Since then, the company has expanded into various other fields, like Civil Defense, CBRN Detection, Police, Academia and the Oil & Gas industry. Taurob has introduced the world’s first ATEX certified (i.e. suitable for explosive environments) mobile robot in 2012. In 2017, Taurob won the TOTAL sponsored “ARGOS Challenge” together with research partners which allowed the company to create the world´s first fully autonomous inspection robot for Oil & Gas. In parallel, a Joint Industry Project (JIP) with Total, Petrobras and Equinor was started to develop the next generation of autonomous robots for equipment manipulation in ATEX environments.
To further ignite the service and expertise in the preventive inspection of industrial sites, in April 2019, Taurob sealed a cooperation agreement with Dietsmann, a leading industrial Operation & Maintenance specialist with a strong position in the energy industries.
During the last years, Taurob has continuously grown profitably and today it employs 46 employees at its premises in Vienna, Austria.
