As part of an on-going series, we are featuring SPRINT Robotics member companies on SR Community. This month: Rototech Pte Ltd was launched in 2021 and is based in Singapore. The company builds and designs robotic technologies that can clean, inspect and repair devices to maintain oil and gas platforms, pipelines and wind turbines.
Tell us about your company in 1 to 2 sentences.
Rototech is a company focused on delivering different inspection techniques not commonly possible by other methods. We provide cost efficient repair solutions that are also not possible with other robotic methods from surface to seabed on risers, pipes, jetties and renewable structures.

What makes your company stand out?
We do more than inspection by having the ability to perform work sub-sea and through the splash zone. We do not just use existing technology but develop new methods and technology to deliver the end results needed. Our machines are unique, and our IP is novel and inventive.
Which developments in I&M robotics are you most excited about?
The ability to deliver solutions that were not possible before through water communications as an area of interest together with new developments in battery power or other energy sources to power robots without using umbilicals.
What is the greatest challenge that your company has faced in I&M robotics?
Raising money.
Has your company won any awards or are there any other achievements you'd like to share?
We have created a new inspection robot that is lightweight, has different inspection packages and is battery operated to work on risers. Our Clamp by pass technology is unique. This means we can deliver NDT and repair solutions such as radiography, PAUT (Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing), wrapping and cutting from surface to seabed.
Look into the future. What developments do you see happening in your company?
New technology that can be used sub-sea for inspection of oil and gas and renewable energy structures that is totally automated, requires no vessel has a garage and is inexpensive to produce and operate.
